A cookbook you share with friends — on iPhone and at dailybread.recipes.

How do I…

Add a recipe from a link?
Tap + on the Recipes tab, choose Paste a link or recipe, and paste the link — the recipe is pulled out clean, no ad walls. Links from TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and recipe websites work today; Instagram doesn't yet, so copy the recipe from the post's caption and paste that instead. On iPhone you can also share straight from Safari, TikTok, or ChatGPT: tap Share, then Daily Bread (look under More the first time).
Add a recipe from a photo or a wall of text?
Tap +, then Scan a paper recipe to photograph a handwritten card or a cookbook page, Upload an image for a screenshot, or Paste a link or recipe for a wall of text. It is read into ingredients and steps for you to check before saving. A recipe that runs longer than one screen? Pick all of its screenshots at once, in order, and they're read as one recipe.
Share my cookbook with a friend?
On the Recipes tab, tap See all next to your friends row to open Friends, switch to Everyone, and tap Add next to their name (or search by @handle). Once they accept, you each see the other's public recipes. Recipes you keep private stay private.
Save a friend's recipe?
Open it from their cookbook and tap Save to my cookbook. You get your own editable copy, with a credit line back to them.
Chat with a friend, or send them a recipe?
Tap the speech-bubble icon on the Recipes tab to open Chats, then New chat and pick a friend — or several for a group. To send a recipe, open it and tap the share arrow next to Save (on the web, Send to a chat), pick the chats, add a note if you like, and send. Chats are between friends only. To take back something you sent, press and hold the message and choose Delete Message (on the web, the Delete message action) — it's removed for everyone.
Get calories and macros, or a cover photo?
While editing a recipe, tap Estimate from ingredients under Per serving for calories and macros. For a cover, open one of your own recipes that has no photo and tap Generate a photo — you get two to pick from. Both are automated estimates and illustrations; see the Terms for what that means. Wrong photo? Edit the recipe and tap Remove photo under the cover.
Change how my cookbook looks?
Tap the pencil on the Recipes tab to open Edit profile, then scroll to Cookbook skin: pick a preset, or choose your own paper, print, and colors. On the web it's under Settings. Friends see your cookbook in your colors.
Report a recipe or a person, or block someone?
On a recipe, open the ⋯ menu and choose Report recipe or Block. On someone's profile, the ⋯ menu has Report profile and Block. Blocking removes the friendship, hides you from each other's lists, stops new friend requests in both directions, and stops them starting a chat with you or adding you to one; undo it under Settings → Blocked users. Reports go straight to the developer — or email the address above.
Delete my account?
Open Settings, tap the (i) next to Account, then Delete account. You'll sign in once more to confirm. It removes your recipes and photos, your profile and @handle, your friendships and pending requests, your notification tokens, and your sign-in record, and it cannot be undone. Copies of your recipes that friends already saved stay with them. If you can't get into the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll do it within 7 days.
