Terms of Service
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Daily Bread is a personal cookbook app — iPhone and web — built and operated by an individual, Ryan Pliske, not a company. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Your account
You sign in with a Google or Apple account and must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for what is posted from your account, and for keeping access to your Google or Apple account secure. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the iPhone app: Settings, the (i) next to Account, then Delete account.
Your recipes and photos
Everything you add stays yours. By marking a recipe public, you let the friends you have accepted see it in the app and save an editable copy to their own cookbook, with a credit line pointing back to you. That copy belongs to the friend who saved it and stays with them even if you later delete the original or your account. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store your content and display it to you and to the friends you choose. We claim no other rights to it.
Only post recipes and photos you have the right to share. Copying a full recipe and its photos from a cookbook, website, or another user without permission is not allowed, and we will remove content on a valid copyright complaint.
Sharing with friends
Recipes you share are visible to the people you've become friends with in the app — anyone whose friend request you accepted, or who accepted yours. Your name, handle, intro, and cookbook skin are visible to other signed-in users so friends can find you. Nobody else can see your cookbook, and nothing in Daily Bread is published to the open internet.
Chat
You can chat with your friends in the app, one-to-one or in a group, and send them text, photos, videos, GIFs, and recipe cards. Chats are only between friends: you can start a chat with, or add to a group, only someone you are friends with. Any member of a group can add another of their friends, remove a member, or leave. Everything you send is visible to everyone in that chat. You can delete a message you sent, which removes it for everyone; you cannot delete someone else's message. Messages you sent remain in the chat if you leave it or delete your account, unless you delete them first. A recipe card is a live view of the owner's recipe and stops showing it if the owner stops sharing it with that reader.
Acceptable use and objectionable content
You also agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, or to spam, scrape, or bulk-collect other users' content or details;
- attempt to access another user's account, cookbook, or data you haven't been given access to;
- interfere with the app, its API, or its infrastructure, or work around its access controls.
Imports, AI features, and nutrition figures
When you import a recipe from a link, text, or a photo, let the app estimate calories and macros, or ask for a generated cover, the recipe content involved is sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic, or for generated covers a text description to OpenAI) through our API, as described in the Privacy Policy. Results are automated and can be wrong: imported recipes may need correcting, generated covers are illustrations, and calorie and macro figures are estimates for general information only — they are not medical, dietary, or allergy advice. Check ingredients yourself if you have an allergy or a medical condition.
Availability and changes
Daily Bread is provided as-is and as-available, free of charge, by one person. Features may change, and the app may occasionally be unavailable. We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
No warranty; limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided without warranties of any kind, and the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it — including loss of recipes or data, or reliance on imported, generated, or nutritional content. Back up anything you can't afford to lose.
Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or delete an account that violates these terms, and remove content that does, without notice.
Apple App Store
If you obtained the Daily Bread iPhone app through Apple's App Store, you also agree to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its support; however, Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
